Who we are
Founded in May 2025 by three passionate musicians, Little Songbook Opera is an organization dedicated to making music accessible and engaging for communities across Greater Boston.
We believe music is a powerful way to tell stories, spark imagination, and bring people together. That's why we take our performances beyond traditional concert halls, meeting audiences where they are.
Everything we do is guided by four core goals: providing paid opportunities for young and emerging artists, offering free or affordable live musical performances to the community, supporting the creation and performance of new music, and creating engaging, interactive music programs for children and families.
Our interactive performances are designed to welcome audiences of all ages, creating spaces where everyone can experience the joy of live music and discover their own creativity. Whether someone is attending their first performance or is a lifelong music lover, we want every audience member to leave feeling inspired and excited to experience music again.
At Little Songbook Opera, we believe music should be accessible to everyone. By investing in artists, championing new works, and creating welcoming musical experiences for all, we are helping build a vibrant musical community that grows with every note.
DEIB Statement
At Little Songbook Opera, we believe that joy and beauty is found in the diversity of the human experience. We commit to not discriminating on the basis of race, creed, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class, ability status, or by any other reason. Rather, we wish to lift up historically marginalized voices since the opera stage should be open to all. Our performances will always include composers and pieces who have been unjustly excluded from the classical music canon, and we collaborate with other artists and guests who have stories that deserve to be told. We believe that the lived experiences of our collaborators, patrons, and guests are all to be valued and celebrated in their diversity and uniqueness.
